US telecoms infrastructure company American Tower has hired three Allen & Overy LLP offices, Marval O'Farrell Mairal in Buenos Aires, Brazil’s Pinheiro Neto Advogados and DLA Piper LLP in Santiago and Lima to acquire the communication tower division of Telefónica’s subsidiary Telxius for US$9.4 billion.

Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in São Paulo and Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados in São Paulo have helped France’s CNP Assurances amend an existing joint venture agreement with the insurance unit of Brazilian bank Caixa, which hired local firms Pinheiro Neto Advogados and Demarest Advogados, in a deal worth nearly 8 billion reais (US$1.5 billion).
