Cemig turns off Light in share offering

Brazilian electricity company Light has called on Milbank in São Paulo and New York and local firm Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados to issue shares in a primary and secondary offering for 2.7 billion reais (US$507 million), in which state-owned Cemig sold its entire stake in the company.

Brazilian firms help bring Petrobras’ TAG divestment to a close

Jones Day offices in New York and São Paulo and Stocche Forbes Advogados in Rio de Janeiro have assisted two subsidiaries of French energy conglomerate Engie, while Tauil & Chequer Advogados in association with Mayer Brown and Stocche Forbes too have helped Canadian fund Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) in their shared 1 billion Brazilian reais (US$194 million) acquisition of Petrobras’ remaining 10% stake in Brazilian gas pipeline company TAG.
