Among several prominent speakers are María Eugenia Cantenys, head of human resources in Argentina for India’s TATA Consultancy Services, and Sofia Gabriela Nuñez, global labour relations counsellor at US energy giant Chevron. The legal director for Latin America North at Swiss agrichemical business Syngenta, María Gonzalez, will participate in a discussion about increasing regional mobility, while Katherine Parr, global human resources director at Californian customer and technical solutions business Support.com, will examine the rising control of employers.
Following the co-chairs’ opening remarks, the first panel will examine the political changes taking place in Latin America and their impact on labour laws across the region, looking closely at the trends in labour matters in the current political climate. A roundtable-style workshop will follow, where participants will reflect on the benefits and challenges of independent contractors for companies. In another panel, in-house counsel and private practitioners will consider the growing regional mobility in Latin America and the tools available to help companies adapt. The conference will end with a panel looking at the dichotomy between the rising control of employers and the privacy rights of the employee.
