Brazilian facial recognition start-up Unico has hired local firm Bronstein, Zilberberg, Chueiri & Potenza Advogados to get a 629 million reais (US$121 million) investment, making it one of the country’s newest unicorns with a market value exceeding US$1 billion.

Brazilian financial management platform Omiexperience (Omie) has relied on Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP in Toronto, Foley & Lardner LLP in San Francisco, Brazilian law firm Machado Meyer Advogados and Conyers Dill & Pearman LLP in the Cayman Islands to raise 580 million reais (US$112 million) in an investment round.
