Magazine Luiza splurges on super app shopping spree

Brazilian retailer Magazine Luiza has hired Machado Meyer Advogados and TozziniFreire Advogados for several acquisitions to add four start-up and e-commerce companies to its digital app, on one occasion shelling out 3.5 billion reais (US$674 million) in what is understood to be the retailer’s largest acquisition to date.
