Partner of the firm where she leads the corporate and M&A practice. Attorney-at-law, University of the Republic of Uruguay, she holds a master’s degree in corporate law and has recently completed an MBA (IEEM Business School – Cranfield University).
Virginia is recognised for the comprehensive, bespoke legal assistance in all corporate areas, as well as expertise in franchise law. This is why she makes the firm stand out in the Uruguayan market.
She has vast experience counselling international and local corporations such as PepsiCo, Ericsson, Mondelez, McDonald’s, Axionlog, Banco Santander, Qantas Airlines, Freddo, Sanofi, Visa International, Genus plc and the Uruguayan American School, Lesffre Yeast, Crédit Agricole, among others, in all areas of corporate law. She participated in the purchase of McDonald’s by Arcos Dorados, which was awarded the Deal of the Year Award by Latin Lawyer. She continues advising in the ongoing extension of this company in Uruguay. She was lead counsel in the negotiation of a multi-million dollar sponsorship deal between Gatorade and Conmebol for the sponsorship of the continental club championship Copa Conmebol Libertadores, and advised Mondelez International in its M&A with Cadbury in 2020. In 2020 she also was lead counsel in PepsiCo’s multi-million dollar deal by which it pledged further expansions in its Colonia Free Zone concentrate plant, which will be the world’s third largest when completed.
She is an expert in Free Zone Law, which comes in handy at times when an increasing number of corporations are seeking to do business in Uruguay due to the legal, social and economic stability it provides investors.
