Biography
Roy C Durling joined the firm in 1991 and became a partner in 2001.
Roy advises clients in the oil and port industries in tax and regulatory matters, especially in aspects relating to the operation of companies within the oil free trade zone regime. Roy has represented major oil and energy companies before the Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Secretary of Energy, Maritime Authority, and tax authorities.
A versatile lawyer with skills in a wide range of corporate and commercial law areas, Roy also counsels local and international clients in the fields of ship finance; mining, banking and finance; capital markets; corporations; doing business and multinationals in Panama; international business transactions; and aviation.
1986–1990: Worked in Haight, Gardner, Poor & Havens (today, Holland & Knight LLP) NY, in asset-based financing.
Roy has a BA from Georgetown University and a JD from Cornell University. He is admitted to practise in NY and Panama.
