Biography
Roberto is a partner at Beccar Varela and a member of the firm’s executive committee. He rejoined the firm in 2010, with the Fortunati & Asociados merger. He heads the firm’s natural resources department and co-heads the agribusiness, banking and financial institutions and M&A departments.
His main practice areas are banking and financial institutions, mergers and acquisitions and project finance, with particular focus on natural resources. He is a recognised expert in the mining, energy and oil and gas industries. He has also acted as consultant to The World Bank on insolvency matters.
Roberto obtained his law degree from the University of Buenos Aires (1979).
Roberto is a member of the board of the Australian–Argentine Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of the board of directors of several companies and he is on the list of arbitrators of the MAE (Open Electronic Market).
