Renata specialises in Brazilian banking and capital markets law. She has acted as leading counsel in a variety of structured cross-border loans and capital markets transactions, where she is known for having worked as counsel for issuers and underwriters in some very complex debts and securitisation offerings in Brazil. She has also an extensive experience in M&A in the financial sector, including the US$5.6 billion acquisition of HSBC Brazil by Banco Bradesco and the US$4.4 billion credit card JV between Banco do Brasil and Cielo and other matters involving financial regulation, such as setting up of financial and payment institutions. Renata obtained her bachelor’s degree in law from the University of São Paulo (USP) Law School and her master’s degree in banking and international finance law from IBMEC. Renata is recognised by LACCA Approved as a lawyer recommended by members of the renowned Latin American Corporate Counsel Association, linked to the Latin Lawyer group, and has been named in the Chambers and Partners Latin America and The Legal 500 rankings as one of the leading lawyers in the banking and finance and capital markets in Brazil.
