Biography

Raul has been part of CMS Grau since he became an intern in January 2000. He specialises in mining law and his legal background combines experience in the corporate, IP, tax, bankruptcy and real state practices of CMS Grau.

Raul has acted as in-house lawyer for Rio Tinto and as a partner of the mining practice remains deeply involved in the project planning of La Granja and other Rio Tinto's mining projects, fostering direct assistance in corporate, commercial and regulatory matters, including certain mining-tax, finance issues, infrastructure planning and governmental affairs.

He is also acquainted with geothermal energy matters, assisting clients and potential investors with respect to the administrative proceedings for the granting of geothermal authorisations, rights and related permits.

Raul holds a master’s degree in mineral law and policy (LLM) from the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) from the University of Dundee (United Kingdom).
