Biography
Rafael received his master’s in commercial law and business administration (summa cum laude) law degree from Universidad Francisco Marroquin. He has been partner since 2004 and his practice primarily focuses on corporate law, administrative law, labour law, immigration law, public procurement, energy law and litigation.
Latin Lawyer selected him among the top 40 lawyers under 40 years of age in Central America. He has been consistently recognised by ranking agencies for his accomplishments, namely Chambers and Partners, IFLR 1000 and The Legal 500. The prestigious Encyclopedia Intelligentsia included him in its "Compendium of Great Thinkers and Brilliant Minds of the 21st Century”. Since 2006, he has been the president of the Spain Chamber of Commerce in Guatemala and in 2013, was awarded by King Juan Carlos I of Spain the Order of Civil Merit.
