Biography

Rafael Alcázar is founder and main partner at the firm and he is also head of our Regulatory area. He graduated in law from the University of Lima and holds a summa cum laude LLM from Belgium's Leuven Catholic University. He has also undergone a specialist programme at The Hague Academy of International Law and at the Practicing Law Institute in NY.

His professional practice focuses on national and foreign banks, brokerage firms, financial leasing companies, mutual fund and investment fund management companies, securitisation companies, risk rating companies and commercial and industrial companies for financing operations.

He has led various national and international transactions, some of which have been recognised by prestigious magazines such as Latin Lawyer, Lex Latin and Latin Counsel.

Currently, he is a full professor of the securities market course at the University of Lima. He has published numerous articles and participated as a speaker in several national and international seminars and conferences.

He has been President of PROCAPITALES, Vice President of the board and director of JP Morgan Banco de Inversión (Peru), director of inPERU (Association Investing in Peru), director of the Deposit Insurance Fund, director of Nesst Peru, independent director of CAVALI SA ICLV (Institution of Compensation and Settlement of Securities), alternate director of Generandes. He is currently a director at Servitebca, the Electronic Money Issuing Company (EEDE/SBS), adviser to the board of directors of Banco de Comercio and adviser to the board of directors of EDPYME Acceso Crediticio.
