Pedro coordinates the mining practice group, with significant experience in the infrastructure sector. He brings extensive knowledge to client projects, providing expert counsel on local and cross-border transactions, negotiating and drafting of commercial agreements, antitrust proceedings, and regulatory, real estate and environmental issues for mining ventures. Mr Garcia is also a member of the board of directors of the World Initiative of Mining Lawyers (WIOML).
Mining clients frequently retain Mr Garcia to advise them on a variety of areas specific to the industry, including the structuring of new investments in mining projects, purchase and sale transactions for exploration and exploitation tenements, and due diligences before the National Department of Mineral Production (DNPM). Clients also rely upon his counsel in drafting option and lease agreements, farm-in/farm-outs, streaming and royalty contracts.
