Paulo Casagrande is the leader of the practice of antitrust and competition law at Trench Rossi Watanabe, one of the main law firms in Brazil, and has over 20 years of professional experience, both in the private sector and in the public sector.
With a doctorate in economic law from the University of São Paulo (USP) and a double master's degree in the same subject from the University of Manchester, United Kingdom, and from the University of Hamburg in Germany, Casagrande was general coordinator at the former Secretariat of Economic Law of the Ministry of Justice (SDE), where he was responsible for some of the antitrust cases before the reorganisation of the Brazilian Competition Defence System in 2012. With experience in large international and Brazilian law firms, Paulo has a deep knowledge of several markets and a broad business vision.
