Biography
Paulo Cezar Aragão is one of BMA’s founding partners. His practice is focused on corporate law, M&A, capital markets and commercial arbitration.
Paulo has been the sole Brazilian lawyer named for almost 10 years as “star individual” for corporate/M&A, according to Chambers Global and Latin America guides. Paulo has also been appointed by Chambers as one of the top 20 M&A lawyers in the world. Over the course of his career, he has taken part in some of the largest M&A in Latin America. His clients include major national and international companies doing business in a variety of sectors, such as energy, education, food and beverages, aircraft industries, mining and metals, stock exchanges, hygiene and beauty and cosmetics.
For several years Paulo was the general counsel of GP Investments, one of the largest and most successful private equity firms in Brazil. He also acted as General Counsel of the Brazilian Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM – Comissão de Valores Mobiliários).
