Partner in Demarest's competition practice, Paola Pugliese has more than 20 years of experience in the area, both in submitting domestic and global transactions for antitrust approval, as well as in landmark cartel cases and other investigations related to anticompetitive conduct. She has extensive experience in various sectors of the economy, including aviation, financial markets, packaging, petrochemicals, mining, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, food and beverages, retail, cold storage, aviation kerosene and many others. Paola’s broad experience is validated through having acted on hundreds of mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures in Brazil, including some of the longest and most complex in recent years. She has also successfully opposed, on behalf of clients, some of the most significant transactions submitted to CADE.
