Biography
Pablo Ordoñez is a partner at PPO and is head of the firm’s tax law team.
As leader of the tax law team, he regularly provides advice to local and foreign companies in the design and implementation of tax structures to enable inbound investments to Bolivia and the implementation of disinvestments. Additionally, he has extensive experience negotiating complex corporate and commercial agreements in relation to their tax effects and tax optimisation alternatives.
Pablo additionally provides legal advice to clients with respect to the tax effects applicable to their businesses and has broad experience representing them in tax-related litigation processes filed before administrative and judicial authorities.
Prior to his incorporation in PPO, Pablo was a partner at a regional law firm. Before that position, he worked as international tax adviser at companies such as Repsol and Telefónica in Spain and Bolivia. During that period, his work focused on providing integral tax advice in coordination with external advisors from Nordic and African countries for the definition and implementation of strategies. Prior to that, Pablo worked at Bolivia’s National Customs Office and Bolivia’s National Tax Service.
Pablo obtained his law degree from Universidad Católica Boliviana and a master’s degree in taxation from the Centro de Estudios Garrigues in Madrid, Spain. He also specialised in international tax planning at Centro de Estudios Financieros in Madrid and in comparative fiscal policy at Harvard University.
