Michael advises financial institutions, equity-sponsors, project-developers, institutional investors and companies in complex financing (leveraged buyout, acquisition, infrastructure and project financings, restructurings, structured trade financings and private placements).
Recent deals in Latin America: the owner/operator on the US$1.08 billion sale-leaseback with a PRC bank of two deep water drilling rigs, and over US$5 billion in other corporate and project-related financings for the same client, a major supplier of oil-drilling services to Petrobras; the project sponsor on a time charter party for the long-term chartering of an FSRU to be used with a new LNG import facility, Uruguay; MetLife on several credit facilities for the financing of large-scale commercial farm operations in Brazil and Peru; Ecopetrol on several US Ex-Im Bank-backed financings; and the project sponsor on Colombian 3G toll-road projects.
