Biography
Matthew is based in São Paulo and is regarded as a highly skilled adviser to clients on strategically important cross-border corporate/M&A and finance transactions in the United States and Latin America.
Matthew has worked in Latin America for nearly 20 years, including on significant cross-border transactions advising Marfrig, Petrobras, PetroRio, Bioceres and Moolec Science. Matthew regularly provides SEC-disclosure and reporting advice to foreign private issuers. In addition, he has advised financial institutions such as Bank of America, Citi, JP Morgan, HSBC and Santander in debt and equity capital markets, banking and project finance transactions.
Matthew is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese and leads Linklaters’ Brazil practice. Matthew was recognised as a leading individual by Chambers Latin America 2021 and in both the Latin America-wide and Brazil: international categories. He has been recognised in The Legal 500 Latin America, The Legal 500 US and IFLR 1000.
