Biography
Matías Zegers has been a partner since 2006. He previously worked at Davis Polk & Wardwell, NY (2002–2003); and at two major law firms in Chile (1995–2006). Also, Matías has an extended academic career at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Matías serves as managing partner of the firm, leading the corporate and M&A group. He is also a member of the DLA Piper´s Americas Executive Committee.
In M&A, he has advised clients in purchase and sale operations of public and private companies. He has also participated in public offers of acquisition of shares of diverse corporations and issuance of bonds and commercial bills.
In venture capital, he has advised clients in landmark transactions, many of them the first to be closed in Chile. Also, he is a reference at the regional level of good corporate governance practices, advising leading companies on the matter.
