Biography

Marcelo Viveiros de Moura has been a partner at the Rio de Janeiro office of Pinheiro Neto since 1996, where he started as trainee in 1985. Graduated in law from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (1988) and with an LLM degree from the University of Cambridge (1993), he worked as visiting lawyer at Slaughter & May in London (1992). Moura specialises in corporate, M&A and finance transactions, especially in the oil and gas sector. Moura was a professor of corporate law at Fundação Getúlio Vargas and has published numerous articles. He has served as coordinator of the Rio de Janeiro Chapter of the Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance and as chairman of the board of the British Chamber of Commerce in Brazil, where he still sits as a member. Moura is President of NGO Parceiros da Educação in Rio, and Chairman of the Friends of the Visual Arts School of Parque Lage.
