Biography
José Virgílio co-heads the practice with José Prado. He is a leading lawyer in project finance, M&A and PPPs in regulated sectors such as transport, oil and gas, power, sanitation, urban and social infrastructure.
Received his LLB. and master’s in commercial law from the University of São Paulo and LLM from the University of Virginia. Also obtained postgraduate degree in business administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas.
Foreign associate at Dewey Ballantine LLP, Nova York, NY, United States (2000/2001).
President of IBRADEMP since March 2015. Member of the International Bar Association, São Paulo Lawyers Association, Brazilian Institute for Energy Law and Private Equity Association of Brazil. Admitted to the New York Bar.
