Biography
José Roberto Oliva Junior has over 17 years’ experience in the energy sector. He focuses his practice on corporate transactions, M&A, project finance and construction matters in the energy segment. José Roberto is renowned as one of the leading energy practitioners by Chambers Latin America and Chambers Global, The Legal 500, Latin Lawyer 250 and IFLR1000. He authored the book titled Project Finance – Corporate and contractual structures focusing on electric power generation in Brazil.
He holds a bachelor's degree in law from the Centro Universitário da Cidade – RJ, Specialisation degree in energy regulation from the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), master’s degree in financial and capital markets law and also in corporate law from the Instituto de Ensino e Pesquisa (Insper), and an LLM from the University of California, Berkeley. He is fluent in Portuguese and English.
