Biography
In 2000, José Miguel de la Calle founded the law firm De La Calle, Londoño & Posada with other colleagues, working as a legal representative and head of the financial and insurance law practices.
He worked at Banco Nacional del Comercio in the process for its sale and restructuring, later becoming Legal Vice-President and General Secretary.
In 2011, he was appointed Superintendent of Industry and Trade by presidential nomination before the Minister of Trade, Industry and Tourism, Dr Sergio Diaz-Granados, a position he held with great integrity, leading various campaigns in favour of consumer rights in Colombia.
Academic background
José Miguel De La Calle studied law at the School of Jurisprudence of Colegio Mayor del Rosario and has a law master's (LLM) with honours from Harvard University. He also participated in the “Politics of Global Finance” programme at the London School of Economics.
