Biography
José María Eyzaguirre García de la Huerta is currently the senior partner of the firm and the head of the litigation practice. Mr Eyzaguirre has an extensive experience in litigation and arbitration matters. He has acted in many of the most renowned litigation and arbitral cases in Chile in the past 30 years.
He has been a professor of civil law at Pontificia Catholic University of Chile for the past 40 years and he is also a professor in the same field at University of Chile.
From 1974 through 1977, he was chairman of the commission that drafted the "Property section" of the current Chilean Constitution. He also participated in the commission that studied the amendment to the Chilean Civil Code on family law matters, and the commission that studied a draft of Uniform Civil and Commercial Code.
He joined Claro & Cia as a partner in 1969.
