José Luiz Homem de Mello is a partner who specialises in banking and corporate finance, including finance transactions, regulatory matters, debt and equity offerings and represents clients in M&A transactions, such as the joint venture of Santander and Credit Agricole in the fiduciary service business (2019) or the equity offering of Banco Inter (2019). He practised in New York in the foreign lawyers programme of Sullivan & Cromwell (2000–2001). He holds an LLM from University of Chicago (2000), an executive MBA in finance from Insper-SP (1997), an LLB from Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (1994), and a bachelor’s in business administration from Fundação Getúlio Vargas (1994). He is a member of the Corporate Governance Committee – Financial Institutions of IBGC and of the Technical Committee of the Brazilian Institute for Investor Relations (IBRI). Homem de Mello is a member of the Brazilian and of the New York State Bar.
