José Alexandre Buaiz Neto joined Pinheiro Neto Advogados in 1994 and became a partner in 2006. Mr Buaiz received his law degree (LLB) in 1995 from the University of Brasília and LLM degree from Boston University in 1997. He was a foreign associate at Mayer Brown in New York from 1997 to 1998. He has an extensive experience in antitrust and anti-bribery law investigations, counselling and litigation. His expertise in litigation involves cartel investigations, corruption and fraud, perform due diligences for mergers and acquisitions and elaboration of compliance programmes. He is the author and co-author of numerous books and articles on antitrust law and anticorruption issues published nationally and internationally. Mr Buaiz has also spoken in various conferences at Brazil and abroad. He is a former member of the Appeals Council for the National Financial System appointed by the Brazilian Association of Listed Companies (ABRASCA) (2011–2013).
