Jorge is co-managing partner of the firm and currently heads the firm’s franchising and licensing practice group. He brings over 28 years of experience, where he has developed a legal and commercial business-oriented practice focused on corporate, commercial, franchising, licensing, distribution, technology and business retail matters.
His expertise includes advising Mexican and foreign clients on the full spectrum of transactions – from start-ups mechanisms to the correct management and operation of their business. His practice also entails compliance, regulatory, corporate, and intellectual property aspects required for the implementation of franchise systems and distribution schemes. Jorge also has vast knowledge of complex corporate and commercial matters including mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisations, strategic alliances and joint ventures, corporate controversies, foreign investments and labour consulting.
He is also an active member of several international associations, such as the international franchising committee of the International Bar Association (IBA), where he served as senior vice chair; Multilaw; the International Franchise Association (IFA); the American Bar Association's Forum on Franchising; and the National Association of Corporate Counsel (Asociación Nacional de Abogados de Empresa, Colegio de Abogados (ANADE)).
Jorge obtained his law degree with honours from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico and a postgraduate degree in corporate law from Instituto Tecnologico Autonomo de Mexico.
