Biography
Partner. Leading lawyer of the corporate/M&A team and member of the banking and finance, and capital markets departments. He has long-standing expertise in local and cross-border M&A, structured and acquisition finance, bond offerings and placements, corporate reorganizations, restructurings and corporate governance matters.
Jorge has a law degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica; holds a postgraduate in business and political, from the London School of Economics; was a member of the Committee that reformed the Chilean Commercial Code; and attorney and general counsel of the Chilean Securities and Insurance Commission.
He sits on the board of three companies owned by Zurich Group, Empresas Carozzi and Socofar; is a professor of the corporate government MBA and Academic Programme for Directors and Managers, from Universidad de Los Andes ESE Business School; is an arbitrator of the National Arbitration Center; and member of the Circle of Directors of Universidad de Los Andes ESE Business School.
