John is recognised as a LACCA Approved lawyer across banking and finance, corporate & M&A, litigation, tax and administrative law. He is also recognised as a LACCA Thought Leader.
Co-managing partner of the firm and managing partner of the Costa Rica office, John Aguilar Quesada is acknowledged as one of the leading corporate and M&A lawyers in Costa Rica and the wider region. John received his law degree from the Autonomous University of Central America and earned his LLM from Harvard University Law School.
John oversees coordination across Aguilar Castillo Love’s presence in nine jurisdictions, with a focus on cross-border matters including big-ticket M&As for global multinationals. He provides strategic advice to clients on cross-border and domestic acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures and private equity transactions. John’s standout reputation in corporate and M&A is complemented by deep expertise across corporate finance, foreign direct investment, antitrust, tax, administrative law as well as litigation.
John has been central to facilitating the region’s first in-house legal network, Asociación de Abogados de Empresa para Centroamérica (AAEC).
