Biography
Joaquim Oliveira is a partner in the areas of banking and finance, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions and private equity at Cescon, Barrieu, Flesch & Barreto Advogados. Currently, he is the managing partner at the firm.
He has frequently been recognised as one of the main lawyers in Brazil by Chambers and Partners and The Legal 500.
He represents banks and other foreign and domestic financial institutions, investment funds and private equity funds, foreign and domestic companies and other investors in public offering transactions, issuance of debentures, issuance of bonds, structured financings, mergers and acquisitions, sale of assets and joint ventures in various sectors of the economy.
He holds a degree in law from the University of São Paulo and a master’s degree in law (LLM) from the Law School of the University of Michigan. He was an international associate at a major New York law firm between 1998 and 1999.
