Biography
João is a true oil and gas expert with more than 10 years’ experience. He regularly advises on farmouts, corporate/M&A and project financing in the sector, bringing a wide range of corporate, finance and regulatory expertise to the table. Based in Rio de Janeiro, he has large experience in the transactional area, especially when dealing with the energy sector.
He has acted as foreign associate at Sidley Austin in New York city, where he was admitted to the New York Bar.
He earned an LLM in corporate law from the New York University; is a postgraduate in petroleum law and business from Instituto Brasileiro de Petróleo, Gás e Biocombustível - IBP and also in tax law from Fundação Getúlio Vargas. He also acquired a certificate in international oil and gas law, contracts and negotiations from the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Foundation. His LLB was earned from Universidade de São Paulo School of Law.
