Biography
Jean Paul Chabaneix leads our banking and finance, projects finance, M&A and capital markets areas. He counsels clients on transactional issues in the electricity, mining, oil and gas, retailers, industrial construction, education, pension funds and railway industries, among others.
Jean Paul has been an international lawyer for Shearman & Sterling (New York, 1995), and repeatedly recognised as one of the most outstanding lawyers in the Peruvian legal market in prestigious publications such as Chambers and Partners, Latin Lawyer, The Legal 500, Who’s Who Legal, International Financial Law Review, among others.
Education: Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú Law School (1990); LLM from New York University (1995). OAS Scholarship. Memberships: American Bar Association; Inter-Pacific Bar Association; National Mining, Petroleum and Energy Association (Oil and Gas Legal Sub-Committee). Languages: Spanish and English.
