Isabel Laventure is a member of the Ferrere tax team, and works as adviser and litigant. She also provides general corporate advice for companies in different business areas.
She is regularly involved in deal structuring and tax planning for a variety of local and foreign companies. In recent years she has advised numerous digital economy companies on the tax implications of their operations in Uruguay and participated in the oil and gas area, assisting diverse industry players on the design of appropriate tax structures for maximising the tax benefits granted by the Uruguayan government. Isabel is a member of the Uruguayan Bar Association and the Uruguayan Institute of Tax Studies. She graduated as an attorney from the University of Montevideo, and has an LLM from Columbia University (2007), being distinguished as a Harlan Stone scholar. In 2020 and 2021, Isabel was recognised in the Legal Media Group Women in Business Law Awards, as Best Tax Lawyer in Latin America.
