Hugo Forno co-leads the litigation and arbitration practice in Peru. With more than 30 years’ experience in business law, he was a founding partner of his previous law firm, Benites, Forno & Ugaz.
Throughout his career, he has acted as arbitrator in numerous proceedings and held several positions, such as secretary general of the National Foreign Investment and Technologies Commission (CONITE), the Consumer Protection Commission of the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (INDECOPI) and adviser to several commissions for the reform of the Peruvian Civil Code. He also has extensive academic experience as a professor at Pontificia Catholic University of Peru and Universidad del Pacífico, among other top tier universities, and has authored several publications, particularly in relating to contracts and civil law.
