Guzman, lawyer, has been in the frontline of the most significant investments and transactions in the Uruguayan market in recent times, including acting as counsel to Goldman Sachs in its acquisition of retail chain Tienda Inglesa, acting as counsel to Coca-Cola FEMSA in its acquisition of Montevideo Refrescos SRL (indirect subsidiary of The Coca Cola Company) and acting as counsel to Corporación Vial del Uruguay in one of the largest corporate notes issuance in the local market to date.
Guzman specialises in M&A transactions and finance, acting as regular counsel to Banco Itaú. He is also frequently instructed to intervene in complex corporate matters.
A graduate from Harvard Law School (LLM), Guzman’s international experience includes working in the New York offices of Linklaters LLP. Guzman is the Harvard Alumni Contact in Uruguay and a member of the Latin America Regional Council of World Services Group.
He has won several first prizes for his books and articles, including the Adolfo Gelsi Bidart civil procedure law prize.
