Biography
Born in Mexico City, Mexico. Educated at Universidad Iberoamericana (JD, 1996) and New York University (LLM, 2000). Worked as foreign associate at Shearman & Sterling, New York (2000 to 2001). Mr Ramirez heads the firm’s hiring committee. He specialises in the areas of banking and finance, bankruptcy and restructurings, with an emphasis in structured finance, asset-backed financing, real estate financing, corporate financing and project finance as well as in structuring and implementing complex collateral packages. He represents a variety of clients in all kinds of banking and finance transactions. Regularly advises international and domestic banks, investment banks, insurance companies and other financial institutions and institutional investors and corporate borrowers, in a wide variety of financial transactions, including single bank and syndicated facilities, secured and unsecured, local and cross-border loans, senior and mezzanine loans, real estate financing and project finance transactions. Has advised Mexican REITs (FIBRAs) on the three largest real estate acquisition financings in Mexican history.
