Biography
Gianni Gutiérrez heads the Ferrere tax team. He participates in tax structuring and design for the most important businesses handled by the firm.
His professional activity ranges from structuring of mergers and acquisitions to design of financial products, and from real estate developments to personal wealth planning.
He has successfully led the defence of some of the most significant disputes instituted by the Uruguayan tax authority against credit, financial and farming concerns.
He is associate professor of taxes at Universidad ORT and President of the Uruguayan Tax Studies Institute. Graduated from Universidad de la República (Uruguay) is coauthor of six books on tax matters: Trusts: Legal, tax and accounting aspects; Taxpayers Facing Tax Inspections; The Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights; Economic groups. Tax focus; annotated and compared edition of the Uruguayan Customs Code; Limits to the creation and collection of taxes control of public spending, 250 questions regarding managers and directors’ liabilities.
