Biography
Giancarlo Chamma Matarazzo advises domestic and international clients from different industries. Giancarlo concentrates his practice in domestic and international tax law, with significant experience and expertise in tax, estate and succession planning; international treaties; administrative and judicial proceedings, non-resident taxation; individual and corporate income taxation; federal taxes; taxation of M&A transactions; taxation of financial and capital market transactions; and accounting.
Matarazzo holds a bachelor's degree in law from the University of São Paulo; a specialisation degree in law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo, a master’s in business administration and Finance from the Instituto Brasileiro de Mercado de Capitais (IBMEC) and an LLM in tax law from the Leiden University, Netherlands. In 2005, he was an assistant professor at the University of Leiden’s LLM programme focused on international taxation and he was also a foreign associate at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu in Rotterdam. He is fluent in Portuguese and English.
