Biography
Frederico is partner and head of Azevedo Sette Advogados’ infrastructure practice in Belo Horizonte. He draws upon more than 25 years’ experience advising clients in complex transactions involving regulatory and administrative law, infrastructure projects and PPPs, project finance, banking and capital markets.
LLB from UFMG Law School, he was admitted to practise in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, 1993. He specialised in corporate finance, and got a PhD in administrative law at Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (PhD, 2007). Frederico is certified as CP3P-F (since 2017).
Well known in academic circles, Frederico is professor at Fundação Dom Cabral (courses aiming at the development of shareholders and leaders with focus on legal matters related to business growth, project finance, concessions and public–private partnerships and M&A). He is a legal consultant at Interamerican Development Bank, and member of the Projeto Infra2038.
Before joining Azevedo Sette, Frederico worked as in-house counsel (1993–2001) at Andrade Gutierrez Group (the largest construction company in Brazil).
Frederico is listed as Band 1 in corporate, mergers & acquisitions in LACCA Approved. In The Legal 500, Chambers Global, Latin America, Latin Lawyer 250 and Who’s Who guides he is recognised in commercial law, corporate M&A, projects and infrastructure, public law, PPPs, administrative law and project finance. In Análise Advocacia 500 is considered one of the most admired lawyers in contracts in Minas Gerais state, with reference to the concession industry.
