Biography
Fernando Alves Meira is a member of the firm since 1989. In 2000, he became a partner allocated to the corporate department. Meira was the head of the corporate and M&A department between 2014 and 2020. At the end of 2020, he was appointed as a co-managing partner of the firm for the period of 2021-2022 and the sole managing partner between 2023 and 2025. He has a diverse practice, primarily advising clients in M&A (onshore and offshore), corporate governance, structured finance and corporate law matters. Meira holds a bachelor's degree in law from the University of São Paulo (USP). Between 1995 and 1997 he was a foreign associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, in New York. He is fluent in Portuguese and English. Meira is also a board member and the head of the compliance committee of Associação Umane, the largest Brazilian health endowment.
