Biography

Erik Gutiérrez joined Baker McKenzie in 2001 as an associate. In 2007, he was appointed partner of the corporate, mergers & acquisitions practice group in the firm's Mexico City office. He is active in the firm's global reorganisations practice Group and Latin America Private Equity sub-committee. Mr Gutiérrez is also a member of the Mexican Private Equity Association and legal committee of the Latin American Venture Capital Association. Mr Gutiérrez focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructuring and planning, public and private bids, negotiations and the analysis of legal matters related to foreign investments. He is also experienced in the legal aspects of guarantees, due diligence conduction and coordination, incorporations and establishment of corporate vehicles and all types of corporate and contractual commercial matters in general. Mr Gutierrez has assisted international private equity funds in deal structuring, investment, financing and exit planning.
