Biography

Born in Mexico City, Mexico. Educated at Universidad Anáhuac in Mexico City (JD, 2003), obtained a postgraduate degree in corporate law from Universidad Anáhuac (2005), and at Instituto de Empresa (2006) in Madrid, Spain. Worked as a foreign associate in the New York office of Cleary Gottlieb in 2011. Mr Aarún specialises in the areas of banking and finance, bankruptcy and restructurings, with an emphasis on secured lending, acquisition finance, structured finance, asset-based financing, mezzanine financing, real estate financing, corporate financing, project finance, as well as in structuring and implementing complex collateral packages. He represents a variety of clients in all kinds of banking and finance transactions. Among others, he regularly advises international and domestic banks, non-bank banks, mezzanine funds, investment banks and other financial institutions and institutional investors, as well as corporate borrowers, in a wide variety of financial transactions, including single bank and syndicated facilities, secured and unsecured local and cross-border loans, senior and mezzanine loans, real estate finance, as well as in financial regulatory matters.
