Biography

Diego Rojas has been a member of the firm since 1995. He graduated from Marlborough College, Wiltshire, England in 1989 and then obtained his law degree with an honours distinction from Universidad Católica Boliviana Law School, La Paz, Bolivia. He was admitted to practise in 1997. Mr Rojas holds a postgraduate degree in corporate law from the Universidad Andina Simón Bolivar, La Paz, Bolivia, a postgraduate degree in oil and gas law from the Universidad Privada de Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Santa Cruz, Bolivia, a postgraduate degree in conciliation and arbitration from the Universidad Aquino de Bolivia, Santa Cruz, Bolivia and holds a master’s degree in law (LLM) from the University of Chicago Law School, where he won an award for negotiation skills. Mr Rojas has several publications related to Bolivian banking regulations, social security, securities in the electronic stock exchange, the South American common market, securitisations in Bolivia, gas regulation and the Bolivian oil and gas potential. Mr Rojas worked as a foreign associate in the corporate and securities division of Epstein Becker & Green PC, New York and as a trainee at Holland & Knight LLP in New York. Mr Rojas also worked as senior attorney for BG Bolivia Corporation (Suc Bolivia). He is fluent in Spanish and English.  Most recently, Mr Rojas has been involved in representing Votorantim and CES Molins for the construction and operation of the new cement plant in Yacuses Bolivia, currently the largest private endeavour in the country.
