Biography
Débora Bacellar is a partner in BMA’s tax and private wealth practices. She is one of the senior tax partners of the firm, with more than 20 years’ experience advising clients on complex tax matters related to mergers, acquisitions, financing and cross-border transactions. Her clients include Brazilian corporations and multinational companies doing business in a variety of sectors, such as infrastructure, private equity and real estate. She also advises wealthy families and high-profile individuals in matters relating to corporate and asset reorganisations, estate planning, foreign investments and individual taxation.
Débora has been a guest speaker and lecturer on tax law at Universidade Federal Fluminense, Candido Mendes University and IBMEC.
Before joining BMA, Débora worked as a tax consultant at Coopers & Lybrand and at Arthur Andersen.
She has been a member of Brazilian Bar Association since 1996.
