David Brinton is the head of the firm’s Americas corporate practice. He regularly represents sellers, purchasers and other parties in negotiated cross-border mergers, acquisitions, reorganisations and bankruptcies, joint venture and investment transactions across a broad range of sectors, with a focus on Latin America.
David’s recent experience includes advising an affiliate of a US conglomerate on its acquisition of a company that owns interests in an electricity generator in Argentina. He also advised Goldman Sachs on its bidding and financing for the acquisition of the Transportadora Associada de Gás SA (TAG), a wholly owned subsidiary of Petrobras SA, one of the most competitive sale processes in the region in recent times. He regularly advises leading global investment management firm Colony Capital, and has advised them on the sale of their US$535 million real estate portfolio, on the acquisition of Digital Bridge, and on certain aspects of its acquisition of Abraaj's Latin America private equity platform from Abraaj and its affiliates (in liquidation) and establishment of its Latin America private equity business.
