Cynthia Urda Kassis is co-head of the mining and metals group and a partner in the project development and finance group. She has considerable experience in Latin American project financings involving bank, agency, alternative and private placement financings.
Her notable work in the region includes advising on the financing of the $1B+ Fruta del Norte Project in Ecuador (IJGlobal’s Latin America Mining & Metals Deal of the Year and the first large-scale mine financing in Ecuador). Recently, she advised on ENGIE’s decarbonisation loan facility and on a sale-related financing transaction for Chile’s four biggest electricity generation.
Cynthia has been named Dealmaker of the Year by The American Lawyer for her work on the historic Panama Canal expansion financing and the Quintero LNG Project in Chile and Projects/Energy Lawyer of the Year by Chambers USA (Women in Law). She was named Project Finance Lawyer of the Year” for the third time in 2019 by Who’s Who Legal.
