Biography
Partner of Demarest's tax area, Christiano Chagas Monteiro de Melo holds a bachelor's degree in law from Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ). He concentrates his practice in tax planning in the financial and capital markets, international taxation and foreign investment in Brazil. He has also worked on tax aspects of mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity issuance transactions, structuring of investment funds and tax administrative proceedings. Christiano is listed as a tax leader in leading local and international legal publications such as Chambers and Partners, The Legal 500, Latin Lawyer 250, LACCA Approved and International Tax Review.
