Biography
Born in Mexico City Mexico. Educated at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (JD, 2003), Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid-Universidad Francisco Vitoria (master’s in business law, 2004) and at London School of Economics and Political Science (master’s in regulation). His practice focuses on antitrust and competition and investigations and compliance. He represents clients before the competition commission, telecommunications regulators, consumer protection agency, as well as the energy, transport and banking regulators in all competition-related matters. He handles other types of government investigations and requests including money laundering, fraud, privacy and data protection issues. Mr Mena was involved in the construction of the new anti-corruption system and in the training of the new operators of the system in Mexico. Has ample experience in compliance, defence, in handling highly complex investigations, coordinating matters in various jurisdictions and in their representation before different authorities.
