Expert in commercial and competition law, Carlos Francisco de Magalhães is considered a pioneer in competition law in Brazil, being the creator and founder of IBRAC (Brazilian Institute of Competition, Consumption and International Trade Studies) and author of dozens of articles, studies and opinions about competition law, all published in specialised magazines and journals since 1970. As a member of several governmental committees that amended the Competition Defence Federal Law, especially the Bill that originated most of the current statutory provisions, he drafted the part that sets forth the definitions of offences and the submission of concentration acts to the analysis of the Brazilian System of Competition Defence. He has been working on very notorious cases for several decades, such as Nestlé/Garoto. Carlos has 35 years of experience in this arena.
